Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Renato Laranja! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Josh Miller! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller cracks Laranja with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Laranja tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Miller was well out of range. Poor timing from Laranja. Laranja showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Miller.
Miller swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Laranja. Laranja drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Miller looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laranja sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miller keeping full guard, as Laranja tries to pass. Miller not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Laranja sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Miller's guard. Miller trying to control here.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Laranja is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Miller sees it coming and defends easily. Laranja wants to take a breather but Miller is having none of it.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Miller loads up on a big right hand but Laranja slips the punch. Miller lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Laranja circles away quickly and effectively. Laranja misses with a body shot.
Nice sprawl there from Miller as Laranja shoots in. Laranja dodges the punch combination from Miller.
Miller will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Laranja tries to counter with a takedown but Miller is quick to defend against it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Laranja throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Miller was covering up waiting for the punch and Laranja finishes the takedown easily into guard. Laranja avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Laranja passes Miller's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Laranja is thwarting Miller's attempts to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Laranja is pressing down on Miller's thigh, looking to free his foot. Miller is holding on for now. Laranja is thwarting Miller's attempts to control the position. Miller is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Laranja is staying active. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Miller is trying is best to control the position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Renato Laranja will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miller can't keep his opponent in guard - Laranja advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Laranja wants to lay and pray for a moment but Miller keeps working. Miller trying to control from the bottom.
Laranja is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Miller can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laranja trying to control from Miller's half guard. Miller has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Laranja is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Laranja stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miller swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Laranja is working hard here to advance position. Laranja looking to sit in guard and control but Miller gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Laranja trying to control the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Miller tries to free his leg and advance position but Laranja is retaining full guard. Miller avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Laranja controls Miller momentarily but Miller frees himself. Laranja wants to sweep but no luck. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Laranja pulls Miller in to control the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miller thows a left - swing and a miss! Miller cracks Laranja with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
It looks like Renato Laranja has been cut. A big left from Miller misses. Laranja tries to counter by clinching up but Miller breaks away and moves out of range. Miller throws a combination that misses and Laranja counters with a nice double leg into guard. Laranja is looking to pass into half guard but Miller pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Miller is in guard.
Laranja had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miller defends it easily. Miller wants to control from the top but Laranja keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Miller content to stall in guard here. Miller trying to control but Laranja is working from the bottom. Laranja wants to sweep here but Miller controlling him for the moment. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Laranja pushes a forearm under Miller's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Miller is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
