Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nycky Downtime (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kim Figueroa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Downtime's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Bring It. Figueroa is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Ride the Lighting. Kim Figueroa has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Nycky Downtime's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
32 - 30 - 2, fighting out of Hilo, Nycky Downtime! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
32 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kim Figueroa! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Chris Saunders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Figueroa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Downtime defends it nicely. Downtime throws a right and a left that Figueroa avoids nicely. Figueroa goes for a double leg but Downtime avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Downtime continues to drive forward. Figueroa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Downtime but Downtime pushes him off and we're back to square one. Downtime went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Nycky Downtime has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Figueroa. Downtime closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Figueroa did well to prevent Downtime getting side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Downtime sitting and controlling from the half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Downtime lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
That's one minute gone in the round. Downtime is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Figueroa defends it well. Downtime wants to work for an arm triangle but Figueroa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Figueroa is looking for a sweep. Downtime is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Figueroa is still trying to improve position. We've been hearing good reports from Downtime's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Downtime is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Downtime is looking for a kimura here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Downtime is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Figueroa has managed to free his arm - good work. Figueroa has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Downtime is working away from the top position though. Figueroa gets full guard. Downtime trying to control but Figueroa is working from the bottom. Figueroa has Downtime pulled in close to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Figueroa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Downtime would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Figueroa looks for a takedown but Downtime sprawls well. Downtime displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Figueroa. Downtime cracks a nice hook into Figueroa's ribs. A momentary lapse in concentration from Downtime enables Figueroa to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Downtime manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Downtime trying to keep a closed guard but Figueroa is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Figueroa wants to control from the top but Downtime keeps moving. Downtime is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Figueroa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Figueroa trying to control but Downtime is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nycky Downtime dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Figueroa is defended easily by Downtime. Downtime throws a big counter combination but Figueroa scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Figueroa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Downtime's waist but Downtime gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Figueroa off to one side. Figueroa shoots in for a takedown but Downtime shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Nycky Downtime has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kim Figueroa. Figueroa darts in looking for a takedown but Downtime gets double underhooks and turns Figueroa into the cage. Downtime stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Downtime wants it to stay on the feet. Donk. Downtime catches Figueroa right on the button with a cross. Figueroa fails with the takedown letting Downtime counter with a right hand. Figueroa is breathing heavily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A jab from Downtime does it's job there. Downtime connects with a body shot that sends Figueroa's belly button to the back. Downtime connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Figueroa momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Downtime fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Figueroa. Downtime lands the left hand. Figueroa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Downtime swivels and escapes. Downtime is looking to counter with head kicks. Downtime thuds a left hand into Figueroa's body. Figueroa goes for a double leg but Downtime avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Downtime continues to drive forward. Downtime wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Downtime is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Figueroa is starting to get sloppy and is letting his hands down. Downtime just took advantage and landed a stinging jab. Oh! Now a right hook, right on the button! Figueroa has gone limp and this one is over!
