PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Neal Pitts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Lynn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Lynn!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Steve Montenegro and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Lynn.
Pitts leaves Lynn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Lynn misses with a wild combination.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lynn enables Pitts to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lynn manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pitts postures up in Lynn's guard and throws a big left but Lynn blocks it.
Lynn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lynn striking off his back but it's not causing Pitts any problems.
Pitts is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Pitts will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lynn controls Pitts momentarily but Pitts frees himself.

Lynn wants to sweep but no luck.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pitts is stalling in the full guard.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Pitts darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Pitts seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Pitts is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Lynn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pitts napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Lynn is looking to take a break and control but Pitts is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That was a close round but I would say that Neal Pitts will probably get the nod.

Lynn pushes a forearm under Pitts's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Pitts is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
