Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between David Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Warren Chadstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Warren Chadstone!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charles misses with a head kick.
Chadstone is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Charles.

Chadstone has closed the distance and engaged Charles in a clinch.

Charles really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Chadstone pulls guard.
Chadstone trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Chadstone has his foot on Charles's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Charles works his way back into a safe position though.
Chadstone trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Charles has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chadstone is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Charles defends well.
Charles chips away with some ground and pound.

Chadstone isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Charles stacks Chadstone on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Charles!

Charles cracks Chadstone with a big right hand but Chadstone just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Charles will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Chadstone tries to escape but Charles has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Chadstone is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Chadstone trying to control the position but Charles manages to sink in the hooks.

Chadstone breaks Charles's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Charles pulls Chadstone in close to prevent any damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Chadstone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Chadstone wants to control from the top but Charles keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Charles avoids the body shot from Chadstone.

Chadstone looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Charles makes his way to full guard, as Chadstone worked for a kimura.
Chadstone wants to control from the top but Charles keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chadstone wants to stand but Charles has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Chadstone trying to control but Charles is working from the bottom.

Chadstone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Chadstone throws an elbow that misses. Charles uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chadstone's guard. Nice move by Charles!

Chadstone wants to sweep but no luck.
Chadstone trying to keep a closed guard but Charles is proving a slippery customer.
Charles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chadstone on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Chadstone throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Charles escapes and throws Chadstone's legs to the side, diving into side control!

David Charles overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chadstone tries to buck Charles off but Charles is having none of it.
Charles gets to mount! Chadstone was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Chadstone is in all sorts of trouble here.
Chadstone is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Chadstone sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Chadstone is looking to get back to full guard here but Charles has managed to pass to side control instead.
Charles lands a nice forearm strike.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Charles cracks Chadstone with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Chadstone is looking for a sweep.
Charles scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Chadstone to see if he's OK.
Chadstone struggling a bit here.
Charles throws an elbow but Chadstone slips to the side and avoids it well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Charles misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Charles enables Chadstone to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Charles manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Chadstone looking to sit in guard and control but Charles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Chadstone looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Charles is defending well. Chadstone quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Charles has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Chadstone celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
