The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koivu lands with an overhand left.
Koivu thows a body shot but no joy.
Koivu walks into a left hand.
It looks like Simppa Koivu has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A slapping leg kick lands for Koivu.

Newsome tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Koivu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Newsome looks gassed!
Koivu cracks the inside of Newsome's front leg.
Koivu throws a right and a left that both miss.
Koivu throws a nice outside leg kick.
Koivu digs a good body shot into Newsome's ribs.
Koivu throws a monster overhand right that drops Newsome! Koivu follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
