Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Massimo Paterno (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saladin Hussain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Massimo Paterno! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Saladin Hussain ! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hussain with a lazy takedown attempt and Paterno counters with a two punch combo. Paterno looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. It seemed like Hussain was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Hussain 's coach down at Golden Gym 13 Elite Coachs was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hussain 's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Hussain shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Paterno counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Paterno lands a slapping body shot.
Paterno looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Paterno closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Hussain can't do much from the bottom here. Hussain is looking for a sweep. Hussain can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hussain tries to bench press Paterno off him but Paterno keeps the position. Paterno remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Hussain gets back to half guard. Hussain is trying to control but can't.
Paterno seems to be looking for submissions.
Hussain tries to roll over but Paterno keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Paterno is trying to work for a kimura but Hussain is defending well.

The fighters are battling for position here. Hussain manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Hussain is trying to keep Paterno in close.
Paterno wanted to stand there but Hussain had control of the position.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Paterno lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paterno shoots for a takedown but Hussain saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Paterno shoots in but Hussain avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hussain looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Massimo Paterno. That's going to take a lot out of him. Paterno fails to land with a series of punches.
Paterno moves into the clinch. Paterno jumps guard.
Hussain wants to control from the top but Paterno keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Paterno has momentary wrist control but Hussain slips an elbow through the middle.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paterno throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Hussain pushes down on Paterno's leg and manages to get into half guard. Hussain thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Paterno's head. Hussain is keen to just control but Paterno is a slippery customer. Paterno is looking for a sweep. Hussain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hussain with the ground and pound but Paterno uses the opportunity to regain guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Paterno looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hussain looking to pass the guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hussain trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Hussain slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Massimo Paterno dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Paterno scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Hussain is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Hussain wants to control the action here but instead Paterno manages to pass to full mount! Hussain is squirming around, avoiding Paterno's attempts to control the action. Paterno is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hussain can do to turn this around? Paterno controlling from the full mount. Paterno trying to control but he's not successful this time. Paterno will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hussain tries to get back to half guard but can't.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hussain regains half guard. Hussain wants to control but Paterno is keeping busy.
Paterno is trying to control the action in half guard but Hussain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Hussain is pressing down on Paterno's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Hussain trying to control the position here. Paterno has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Paterno slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Paterno trying to control but Hussain is working from the bottom. Hussain working a defensive guard here.
Hussain looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Hussain looking for a sweep. Not yet Hussain , not yet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Paterno keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Paterno dives in for a single leg takedown but Hussain sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. A little jabbing left from Hussain on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Paterno fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hussain sprawls well initially but Paterno persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Paterno is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Hussain reverses the position - he's now on top in Paterno's guard. Hussain trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Paterno wants to get back to his feet but Hussain passes into half guard.
Paterno is looking for a sweep. Hussain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Paterno won't allow Hussain to pass to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paterno is in trouble now - Hussain has advanced to mount! Hussain looking to control but Paterno is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Paterno really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Paterno tries to hold on but Hussain postures up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Hussain lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Massimo Paterno will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

He catches Hussain napping and manages to drive through into side control! Hussain is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Paterno off and has taken his back! Hussain is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Paterno is defending well though. Hussain let's go of the attempt for now. Paterno covering up well under a series of strikes from Hussain . Paterno trying to get back to his feet but Hussain is in full control for now. Paterno is keeping busy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hussain is persistently looking for the submission but Paterno is defending it well.

Hussain gets his hands free as Paterno looks to control. Will Hussain go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Paterno covering up well under a barage of strikes. Hussain has managed to slip his arm under Paterno's chin. This could be all over... yep, Paterno is tapping out! Submission win for Hussain .
