Ward comes to the cage accompanied by Irigy Hónaljmirigy - Rúgj Chuck Norris (Chuck Norris parody by Hungarians) . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Materla pushes Ward up against the cage in a clinch.

Ward works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Materla working for a triangle but Ward defends it easily.
Ward looking to pass the guard.
Materla is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ward is controlling him.
Materla is trying to control the position but Ward postures up.
Ward preventing the sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward stands and throws Materla's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Materla prevents Ward from moving into mount.
Ward has knee on belly and moves into mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ward with a couple of short strikes.
Materla tries to lock up and control but Ward gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Ward raining down hammerfists from mount.
Ward lands a heavy elbow.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Ward! Materla is hurt baaadly! Ward is firing away with more strikes - Materla is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
