The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kartes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kartes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kartes wants to stand but Murray is controlling his arm.
Kartes has control of an arm but Murray manages to advance to Kartes's back!
Murray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kartes on the ground.
Kartes wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Murray's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Murray could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Murray is looking for a choke. Kartes gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Kartes manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Kartes's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Murray is striking but Kartes is not phased and passes to half guard.
Kartes is taking a breather. Murray says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Kartes stops Murray from getting back to his feet.
Kartes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Murray is trying to get back to full guard.
Kartes is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Murray tries to hold on but Kartes postures up.
Kartes is in the full mount, landing strikes.

It looks like Florentino Murray has been cut.
Kartes landing strikes from the mount and Murray is in trouble!
Kartes controlling the pace for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kartes is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Murray is surviving well by controlling Kartes's body position as best he can.
Kartes scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Kartes! Murray is hurt baaadly! Kartes is firing away with more strikes - Murray is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
