Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maynard Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Munir Hadid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Munir Hadid has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Maynard Maddox's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maddox looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Hadid ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Hadid no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Maddox wants to control from the top but Hadid keeps moving.

Maddox postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hadid is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Maddox, into his guard.

Hadid got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maddox has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hadid has managed to get both his arms back between Maddox's legs - danger averted.
Maddox controls Hadid momentarily but Hadid frees himself.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Maddox is on top in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Maddox stuffs the takedown attempt from Hadid. Hadid gets slowly back to his feet.
Maddox appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.

Hadid rushes Maddox and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

That was a close round but I would say that Maynard Maddox will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Hadid pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hadid dives in for a single leg takedown but Maddox sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Maddox tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Hadid manages to circle out of the way.
Maddox changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hadid tries to avoid it but Maddox manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hadid to the ground. Hadid escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hadid tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Maddox fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hadid, pushing him back against the cage.
Maddox really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hadid drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Maddox gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Hadid is breathing heavily.

Maddox pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hadid shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Maddox has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hadid uses from the top position.

Hadid looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Maddox with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hadid bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hadid has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Maddox wants to get back to his feet but Hadid drags him back down.

Munir Hadid showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Maddox's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Munir Hadid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Maddox is pressed up against the cage. Hadid has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Maddox down to the mat. Maddox avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Hadid takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Maddox enables Hadid to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Maddox manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
