Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bobby North (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Demoss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Demoss's choice of entrance music: Here Comes The Boom. Mike Demoss will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby North!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Demoss!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
North throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Demoss's waist but Demoss gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing North off to one side.
North shoots in and bounces Demoss off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Demoss looking to hit a scissor sweep but North is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
North wants to control from the top but Demoss keeps moving.
North is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Demoss is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
North is really struggling to control Demoss but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Demoss working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. North doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. North manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
North is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Demoss is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Demoss has escaped and now he's on top!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Demoss wants to stand but North has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Demoss has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of North is proving hard to escape from.

North is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Demoss looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Demoss tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but North paws at him with a jab and circles away.

North gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Demoss can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as North controls the pace.
North throws and elbow that misses. Demoss uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in North's guard. Nice move by Demoss!

Demoss stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. North swivels though and keeps the full guard.
North tries to land a sweep but no joy.

North wants to sweep here but Demoss controlling him for the moment.

North is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
North is keen to just control but Demoss is a slippery customer.
North throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. North connects with a nice short shot to Demoss's temple.

Demoss tries to roll over but North keeps him under control.
Demoss is not content to let North control the position.
North lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
North is keen to just control but Demoss is a slippery customer.
North seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
North thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
North decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Demoss is breathing heavily.

Demoss connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
North avoids the head kick by Demoss.
North is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Demoss darts in trying to clinch
and North counters with a nice double leg into side control. Demoss won't be happy with that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

North looking to control but instead Demoss has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
North sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Demoss defending well though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
North looks for a takedown but Demoss sprawls well.
Demoss throws a combination that misses
and North counters with a single leg into guard. Demoss didn't expect that.
North sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Demoss's guard.
Demoss avoiding damage under a succession of punches from North.
Demoss tries to kick North off in order to stand up. North Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Demoss is looking to reverse the position.
North works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
North creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

North has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
North fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and North moves into the clinch.
North tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Demoss smiles and moves away.

North throws a strike but Demoss rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Demoss must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

North lands a couple of decent looking shots.
North makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bobby North overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for North, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
