Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lex Layser (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Olin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Olin told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lex Layser!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Olin!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, James Atkins and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Olin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Olin tries to score with some ground and pound. Layser controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Layser is looking to reverse the position.
Layser manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Olin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Olin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Layser's head.
Layser avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Olin.
Layser is looking for a sweep. Olin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Olin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Olin works his way into full mount!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Olin in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Olin looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Olin lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Olin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Layser bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Layser is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Olin is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Olin has escaped and now he's on top!

Olin stops Layser from standing up.
Layser utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Olin throwing strikes but missing.
Olin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Layser swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Olin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Olin throws a big right hand that misses.
Olin pushes down on Layser's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Olin looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Olin misses with a head shot. Layser uses the momentum to regain guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Olin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Olin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Olin postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Olin working his ground and pound in the gym.
Olin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Olin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Layser is keeping the position for now.
Olin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Olin scoring with some ground and pound.
Layser definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Olin trying to control but Layser is working from the bottom.
Olin lands a couple of elbows.
Olin passes into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Olin lands a nice short elbow.
Layser is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Olin winds up and cracks Layser with a swinging punch to the side of the head.


Layser is rocked!
Olin lands a big elbow - Layser is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Olin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Olin!
Our winner, Jack Olin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
