Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hales!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Buck!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buck throws a sloppy head kick and Hales moves out of range easily.
Hales shoots for a double leg takedown but Buck sprawls well. He's pushed Hales's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hales is looking to clinch but Buck is avoiding it.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Buck uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hales.
Buck goes for a double leg but Hales avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hales continues to drive forward.
Buck fails with the takedown.
Buck throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Buck gets caught napping as Hales dives in and scores a takedown. Buck manages to retain guard.
Hales trying to control the position from guard on top but Buck is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hales drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hales jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Buck is trying to keep Hales in close.
Buck really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hales. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hales looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hales wants to control from the top but Buck keeps moving.
Buck not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hales passes Buck's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hales is keen to just control but Buck is a slippery customer.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Buck can do anything to dispel that myth.
Buck tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hales has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Hales is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Buck can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hales is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Buck is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Buck flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Hales anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Buck and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hales slips an arm under Buck chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hales has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hales is squeezing on Buck like an anaconda would it's prey. Buck fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mark Hales!
