The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wharton slips a jab from Bane.
Bane stuns Wharton with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Bane tries to bum rush Wharton with a series of wild strikes but Wharton uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Wharton wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Wharton shoots for a double leg takedown but Bane sprawls well. He's pushed Wharton's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The crowd cheers as Bane lands an impressive looking overhand right. Wharton doesn't seem phased though.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wharton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bane appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Wharton shoots in looking for a takedown. Bane tries to sprawl out of it but Wharton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bane manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
