Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charley Short (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jax Barbosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jax Barbosa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jax Barbosa!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Ron Honeybunn.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Short as he jumps to the side.
Barbosa shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Short counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Barbosa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Barbosa is looking to clinch but Short is avoiding it.

Short shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Barbosa manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Barbosa wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Short is now in half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Short is thwarting Barbosa's attempts to control the position.

Barbosa is defending against the submission attempts here by Short.

Short is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Barbosa is just riding it out for now. Short eventually gives up the hold.
Barbosa wants to get back to full guard but Short has passed into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Barbosa wants to get back to his feet but Short drags him back down.

Short is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Barbosa knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Barbosa tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Short working for a choke but Barbosa is defending well.
Short doesn't have the hooks in and Barbosa manages to turn into his guard.
Barbosa wants to stand but Short is controlling his posture from full guard.
Barbosa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Short's guard.

Short is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Barbosa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Barbosa's back!
Barbosa trying to control the position but Short manages to sink in the hooks.
I really don't envy Barbosa right now.
