PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Remmi Bonjaatkos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brah At Hammed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 16 - 1, fighting out of London, Remmi Bonjaatkos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Brah At Hammed!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
At Hammed takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
At Hammed bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
At Hammed tries to close the distance and clinch but Bonjaatkos swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
At Hammed throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
At Hammed stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
At Hammed has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
At Hammed takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
At Hammed moves away from the strike by Bonjaatkos.
Bonjaatkos throws a leg kick which misses At Hammed's front leg but catches the back leg as At Hammed tries to avoid it.

and Bonjaatkos counters with a nice body kick.
A low kick from At Hammed is predictable there
and Bonjaatkos connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
At Hammed misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Bonjaatkos fires out a quick counter leg kick but At Hammed just manages to avoid it.
Bonjaatkos throws a wild body kick that At Hammed sees coming a mile off.

Bonjaatkos takes the fight into the clinch.
At Hammed can't get the takedown.
Bonjaatkos lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt At Hammed or not.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
At Hammed tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
At Hammed blocking some punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bonjaatkos on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

At Hammed manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Bonjaatkos has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of At Hammed is proving hard to escape from.
Bonjaatkos controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

At Hammed is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Bonjaatkos is aware though and is defending well.
Bonjaatkos would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Bonjaatkos postures up.
Bonjaatkos trying to control but At Hammed is working from the bottom.
At Hammed trying to keep a closed guard but Bonjaatkos is proving a slippery customer.

At Hammed has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bonjaatkos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
At Hammed wants to stand up but Bonjaatkos is controlling him.
Bonjaatkos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. At Hammed swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
At Hammed dodges the punch combination from Bonjaatkos.
A head kick misses from At Hammed.

Bonjaatkos closes the distance and clinches.
At Hammed using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bonjaatkos has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bonjaatkos working aggressively here.

Bonjaatkos misses with the head strike.

At Hammed misses with a punch to the body.
At Hammed tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Bonjaatkos escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bonjaatkos throws out a leg kick but At Hammed moves out of range and Bonjaatkos only half commits.
Bonjaatkos throws a solid leg kick but At Hammed takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bonjaatkos.
At Hammed flicks out a counter leg kick but Bonjaatkos steps away.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bonjaatkos darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bonjaatkos avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bonjaatkos throws a quick counter head kick but At Hammed was just out of range.
At Hammed is looking to chop away at Bonjaatkos's legs.
At Hammed tries to clinch there but Bonjaatkos circles away.
Bonjaatkos appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Bonjaatkos circles away from the clinch attempt.

At Hammed moves into range and clinches up with Bonjaatkos.
Bonjaatkos lands on the inside with an uppercut.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

At Hammed has Bonjaatkos pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. At Hammed pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bonjaatkos tumbling to the mat - At Hammed dives into Bonjaatkos's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bonjaatkos working a defensive guard but At Hammed passes into half guard.
At Hammed passes to full mount!
Bonjaatkos is wriggling around trying to escape.
Bonjaatkos wants to control but At Hammed is having none of it.
At Hammed looking to control and managing it successfully.
At Hammed tries to control but Bonjaatkos wriggling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Remmi Bonjaatkos will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



At Hammed gets a takedown into half guard.
Bonjaatkos trying to hold on to At Hammed's head to control him but At Hammed postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

At Hammed is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Bonjaatkos has managed to free his arm - good work.
At Hammed is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

At Hammed seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Bonjaatkos is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
