Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Stanley Wise! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Felipe Castanhari! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wise moves out of range of the strikes. Wise went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Wise keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Felipe Castanhari seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wise misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Castanhari throws a body shot but no joy. Wise appears to be looking for a big counter. Wise shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Castanhari sprawls well. Castanhari wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wise gets slowly back to his feet. Castanhari has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Castanhari scores with a shoulder strike. Castanhari leaning against his opponent.
Wise is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Castanhari to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stanley Wise. That's going to take a lot out of him. Castanhari works on Wise's body with a couple of short punches.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castanhari throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wises head. Castanhari lands with a short head shot on the inside. Wise is breathing heavily. Wise tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Castanhari just stands there and leans against the cage. Castanhari digs a right hand into Wise's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wise's gas tank. Castanhari lands a hook that snaps the head of Wise backwards. A left hand lands to the body for Castanhari.
Castanhari pushes Wise back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Stanley Wise has been cut. A body shot lands from Castanhari.

Wise is rocked! The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Castanhari is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Castanhari effectively controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee is keeping an eye on Castanhari - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
The crowd are getting on Castanhari's back here. They're not happy about his lack of aggression in the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Castanhari creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Oh Wise is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Castanhari lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage. Wise seems to have got his legs back now. Wise takes a shot to the head. Castanhari dips a shoulder and cracks Wise with a mighty uppercut! Wise falls back against the cage and Castanhari unloads with a barrage of strikes! Wise is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Castanhari screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Felipe Castanhari!
