Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andriy Pavlyuchenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michel Platini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Michel Platini will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Andriy Pavlyuchenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Michel Platini!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pavlyuchenko closes the distance but Platini moves to the side
and Platini counters with a nice uppercut.
Pavlyuchenko tries to close the distance and clinch up but Platini swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pavlyuchenko throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Pavlyuchenko drives through and clinches with Platini against the ropes.
Pavlyuchenko doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Pavlyuchenko drops down looking for an ankle pick but Platini pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pavlyuchenko wants to land a leg kick but Platini is out of range.

Pavlyuchenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Pavlyuchenko thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Platini's head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pavlyuchenko passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Platini!
Pavlyuchenko wants to control the pace but Platini is squirming around nicely.

Pavlyuchenko throws some wild stikes that Platini manages to avoid easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Platini wants to hold on but Pavlyuchenko pushes him away.
Pavlyuchenko throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Pavlyuchenko cracks Platini with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pavlyuchenko has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pavlyuchenko can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Platini is looking to escape.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Platini is desperately trying to improve his position but Pavlyuchenko has a good base and remains in mount.

Platini is squirming around, avoiding Pavlyuchenko's attempts to control the action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pavlyuchenko has Platini pressed against the ropes, preventing Platini from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Pavlyuchenko is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Andriy Pavlyuchenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Pavlyuchenko wants to work for an arm triangle but Platini is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Platini is in trouble now - Pavlyuchenko has advanced to mount!
