The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch but Hathaway swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hathaway lands a head shot.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Hathaway paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Silva moves into range and clinches up with Hathaway.
Hathaway breaks the clinch.
Hathaway uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Hathaway looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Silva takes one on the button.
Silva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Silva connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Hathaway scores with the left hand. Silva knows he should have avoided that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva tries to clinch there but Hathaway circles away.
Silva takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hathaway lands a body shot.
Hathaway plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Silva swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Silva face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
