Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Pepe Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reza Karimi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reza Karimi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lopez looks to throw the jab but Karimi is out of range.
Lopez connects with an inside leg kick.
Karimi staying out of range there.
A chopping leg kick lands by Lopez.
Karimi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lopez.
Karimi throws a head kick that misses.
Lopez moves away from the strike by Karimi.
Karimi jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Lopez throws a low kick, looking for Karimi's leg but Karimi calmly moves out of range.
Lopez ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Karimi looks to score with a jab to the body but Lopez is just out of range.
Lopez half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Karimi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lopez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Karimi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Karimi misses with a leg kick.
Lopez feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Karimi's calf.
Lopez motions for Karimi to come forward. Lopez throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Karimi is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Lopez moves into the clinch.

Karimi fails to pull guard.
Karimi successfully pulls guard.
Karimi keeping moving, preventing Lopez from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lopez is working Karimi over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Lopez connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Karimi some visible discomfort.

Lopez moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Karimi.

Lopez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Lopez throws a sloppy head kick and Karimi moves out of range easily.
Karimi dips to his left and cracks Lopez with an uppercut!

Lopez thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Karimi if he has to take too many more of those.
Lopez tries to clinch up but Karimi circles away and keeps his distance.
Reza Karimi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Lopez gets control of Karimi's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lopez will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been informed that Karimi has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Lopez wants to stand and escape but Karimi is having none of it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Lopez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Karimi keeps working.
Lopez scores with a couple of short elbows.
Lopez is looking to take a break and control but Karimi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Lopez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
