Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Darren Cortes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Krahe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krahe has chosen Abigail - Motionless in White as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Ricky Krahe has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Darren Cortes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricky Krahe!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Alexandre Firmino and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Krahe dives in and scores a takedown into Cortes's guard.

Cortes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Krahe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Krahe working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Krahe passes into half guard.

Krahe is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cortes sees it coming and defends easily.

Krahe is looking for a kimura here.
Cortes wants to control but Krahe is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Krahe lands a nice short elbow.

Krahe wants to work for an arm triangle but Cortes is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Krahe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cortes is just riding it out for now. Krahe eventually gives up the hold.

Krahe is looking for a kimura but Cortes is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Krahe to get the leverage.

Krahe drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cortes manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Krahe has Cortes in his guard.


Krahe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Cortes has hold of Krahe's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Krahe manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Krahe is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Krahe isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cortes stacks Krahe on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cortes!
