The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Monzon rushes Morra and presses him up against the cage.
Morra fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Monzon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Morra is defending well.
Morra softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.

Monzon gets control of Morra's arms and successfully pulls guard. Monzon will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Morra wants to pass the guard but Monzon is keeping the position.
Monzon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Morra is one step ahead there.
Morra looking to sit in guard and control but Monzon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Monzon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Morra is on top in guard.

Monzon doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Monzon is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Morra stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morra wants it to stay on the feet.

It looks like Carles Monzon has been cut.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Morra lands a big right hand that sends Monzon crashing to the mat! Morra stays standing though and waves Monzon back to his feet!

A big right followed by a crushing left from Morra knocks Monzon out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
