Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Remmy Martin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Don Rhodes!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martin throws a head kick but Rhodes moves out of range.
Martin throws a body kick that misses.
Rhodes misses with a two punch combination.
Rhodes bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rhodes keeps the fight on the outside.
Rhodes throws a sloppy head kick and Martin moves out of range easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Martin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rhodes blocks a head kick by Martin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Rhodes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
It looked like Martin wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Rhodes leaves Martin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin shoots in for a takedown but Rhodes shows good takedown defense.
Martin goes for a double leg but Rhodes avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rhodes continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Remmy Martin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rhodes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Martin fails with a takedown attempt.
Remmy Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Martin shoots and misses
and Rhodes counters with a three punch combo that has Martin backing up. Martin nods at Rhodes to acknowledge the strikes.
Martin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rhodes swivels and escapes.
Martin takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Rhodes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Martin to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Rhodes is pulling down on Martin's head. It's preventing any offense from Martin, at least for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Martin stopping the sweep attempt from Rhodes.
Rhodes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Rhodes is looking to cinch up a triangle. Martin throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Rhodes's body to avoid the submission. Rhodes has instead reached around Martin's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Rhodes arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Don Rhodes!
