Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jayhan Madera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ched Bendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jayhan Madera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ched Bendes!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bendes shoots in and gets a takedown into Madera's guard.
Bendes tries to free his leg and advance position but Madera is retaining full guard.
Bendes chips away with some ground and pound.
Madera looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bendes controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Madera stuffs the takedown attempt from Bendes. Bendes gets slowly back to his feet.

Bendes dives in and grabs Madera's left leg, looking for a takedown. Madera pushes down on Bendes's head and hops out.
Madera throws a big counter combination but Bendes scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Bendes tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Madera is able to avoid easily.
Bendes fails in his attempt to clinch.

Madera tries to sprawl but Bendes drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Bendes passes the guard and advances to mount!

Bendes moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Madera has worked his arm free - good work by Madera!
Madera is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Bendes is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Bendes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Madera is looking to escape.
Madera wants to control but Bendes is having none of it.

Bendes tries to control but Madera wriggling away.

Bendes goes for an armbar but Madera turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Madera.

Bendes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Madera gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bendes is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Bendes shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Madera is trying to defend but Bendes finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Bendes in particular looking to stall.
Madera is looking to improve his position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bendes lands a nice short elbow.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Madera is working to avoid the ground and pound but Bendes connects with a decent elbow.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Madera parries the strikes from Bendes easily there. Bendes is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Madera to escape.

Bendes lands a nice forearm strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ched Bendes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Bendes shoots for a double leg takedown but Madera sprawls well. He's pushed Bendes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Madera closes the distance and clinches.

Bendes gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Madera regains guard.
Bendes is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Madera is trying to control the position but Bendes postures up.

Madera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bendes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bendes tries to clinch up but Madera circles away and keeps his distance.

Madera tries to keep at a distance but Bendes has taken the fight into the clinch.
Madera jumps guard but Bendes stands there with Madera around his waist. Madera gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Bendes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Madera just stands there and leans against the cage.

Madera breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bendes on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Madera fails with a takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bendes misses with a wild body shot.
Jayhan Madera is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A nice combination there by Bendes.
Bendes shoots in looking for a takedown. Madera tries to sprawl out of it but Bendes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Madera manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Madera wants to clinch up but Bendes keeps it at a distance.

and Madera counters with a thumping low kick.
Bendes tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Madera paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Madera scores with a one two! Bendes had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Bendes throws a sloppy head kick and Madera moves out of range easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bendes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Madera tries to counter by clinching up but Bendes breaks away and moves out of range.
Bendes takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Bendes gets a clinch.
Bendes drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Madera gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Madera escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Madera fails to land the takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bendes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Madera as he jumps to the side.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Ched Bendes.
I've got Bendes winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
