Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luca Rinaldi!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie scores with a hook to the body. Rinaldi takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Gracie wants to clinch.
Gracie rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rinaldi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A punch combination from Gracie misses.
Gracie is looking to clinch but Rinaldi is avoiding it.
Rinaldi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Gracie lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gracie.
Rinaldi tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gracie sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rinaldi somewhat.
Gracie leaves Rinaldi with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Antonio Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luca Rinaldi.
Gracie tries to clinch but Rinaldi moves out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Gracie looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rinaldi shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gracie pinned against the cage. Gracie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gracie displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Rinaldi like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Rinaldi from another fist facial!
