Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James Charleston! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rick Showtime! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Charleston pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Charleston moves in looking to clinch but Showtime pushes him off. Showtime closes this distance looking for a takedown but Charleston circles away. Charleston clinches up against the cage. Showtime breaks from the clinch.
Charleston fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Showtime avoids it really well and circles away. Showtime looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. We've been told by Charleston's head coaches at Warrior MMA and Fitness that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. A shot to the liver by Showtime. Beautiful body shot. Showtime tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Charleston swivels and escapes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Showtime stalks Charleston and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Charleston's face. Charleston staggers backwards, shaken.
It looks like James Charleston has been cut. No luck with that takedown attempt from Showtime. James Charleston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Showtime. Showtime closes the distance and lands a one-two. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Showtime tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Charleston paws at him with a jab and circles away.

He's pushed Showtime's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Charleston defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Showtime. Showtime rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Charleston moves out of range and avoids them all easily. The fight moves into the clinch position. Charleston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Charleston wants to clinch up but Showtime keeps it at a distance. Showtime unleashes a big counter combination but Charleston bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Showtime tries to keep at a distance but Charleston has taken the fight into the clinch. Charleston's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

This has been an exciting period of action! Charleston throws a strike but Showtime rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Showtime seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Let's hope that Showtime has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Showtime accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Showtime sitting in guard here, content to control.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Showtime stuffs the takedown. Showtime steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Charleston. Showtime lands with a nice combination. Charleston backs away looking to recover. Rick Showtime dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Charleston's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Charleston stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Charleston wants it to stay on the feet. Showtime changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Charleston tries to avoid it but Showtime manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Charleston to the ground. Charleston escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. James Charleston has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Showtime. Showtime is breathing heavily. The fight stays on the outside here - Charleston looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Showtime is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Showtime shoots in but no luck this time. Charleston tries to close the distance and clinch up but Showtime swats him away and circles back towards the center. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Charleston stands and throws Showtime's legs to the side, diving into side control. Charleston tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Showtime parries the strikes from Charleston easily there. Charleston is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Showtime to escape.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Charleston will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on James Charleston's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Charleston tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Showtime misses with a series of wild punches.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Charleston will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Showtime up against the cage. Showtime jumps guard and drags Charleston to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Showtime thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Charleston throws a strike but Showtime rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Showtime in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Charleston keeping moving, preventing Showtime from controlling successfully. Showtime is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Showtime content to stall in guard here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Charleston working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Showtime.

It looked like Charleston was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Showtime. Rick Showtime seems to be getting the better of the standup. Showtime fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Rick Showtime. I think Showtime has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
