Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jose Booth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bentonic Velent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bentonic Velent will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jose Booth! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bentonic Velent! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velent fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Booth to the ground. Velent is now in Booth's guard. Booth pulls Velent in close to his closed guard and prevents Velent from doing any damage or advancing position. Velent lands a couple of elbows. Booth preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Velent looking to pass the guard. Booth working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Velent doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Velent manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Velent must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Booth keeping moving, preventing Velent from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Booth's corner calls for a 1-2. Booth obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Velent pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Velent is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Booth scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Booth feints a jab promting Velent to slip. Booth then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Velent slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Booth thuds his shin into the meat of Velent's side.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Booth fails with the takedown. Velent goes for a double leg but Booth avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Booth continues to drive forward. Booth throws a head kick but Velent moves out of range.
Velent is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Velent moves into the clinch. Booth taking a breather. Booth manages to break the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Velent staying out of range there. Velent throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Velent moves into the clinch. Booth leaning his opponent against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Booth pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Velent shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Booth is trying to defend but Velent finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Velent seems to be looking for submissions.
Velent perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Booth tries to roll over but Velent keeps him under control. Booth is staying active underneath Velent, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Velent tries to pass the half guard into mount. Booth knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Velent moves nicely into side control. Velent in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Velent tries to advance to mount but Booth denies him. Velent working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Bentonic Velent will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Velent fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Booth, pushing him back against the cage. Velent pulls Booth into guard.
Booth trying to stand up but can't free himself from Velent's guard. Booth scoring with punches to the head and body. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Velent is looking for a triangle but Booth pushes his legs off easily.
Velent has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Booth is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Velent looking for subs off his back but Booth has passed one foot through into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Booth stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
That's one minute gone in the round. Booth tries to close the distance and clinch up but Velent swats him away and circles back towards the center. Velent looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Booth misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Velent feints a counter leg kick. Velent has taken the fight to the clinch.
Booth pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Booth throws a nice looking combination but Velent bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Velent feints the counter takedown. No luck for Velent with that takedown attempt. Velent has a takedown stuffed. Velent dives in and scores a takedown into Booth's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Booth pulls Velent in close to prevent any damage. Velent preventing the sweep. Velent trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Booth looking to control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Booth moves into the clinch successfully.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Velent obliges. Booth breaks from the clinch.
Booth displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Velent. Jose Booth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bentonic Velent. Velent drives through and clinches with Booth against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Velent is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Booth pulls him back up using the underhooks. Velent trying to stall but Booth improves his position.
Velent wants to stall.
Booth is looking to control Velent's arms but Velent gets an underhook and turns him. Now Booth has his back to the cage. Booth is pushing Velent up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Velent wants a takedown.
Velent tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Booth avoids it. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Velent fails to pull guard.

Velent is breathing heavily. Velent's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Velent has managed to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bentonic Velent will probably get the nod - 10:9. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Booth went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Velent closes the distance and pushes Booth back into the cage. Velent sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Velent rushes Booth and presses him up against the cage. Booth breaks the clinch.
Booth gets tackled into the cage by Velent. Velent maintains the clinch. Velent has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Booth avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Velent is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Booth is defending well. Velent takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Booth's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Velent instigates a clinch. Velent misses with a hook from the clinch. A battle for position here, against the cage. Booth breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Velent closes the distance and clinches. Velent softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Velent wants to break the clinch but can't.
Velent is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Booth breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Booth will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
This has been an exciting period of action! Velent shoots in but Booth avoids the takedown attempt easily. As Velent looks to move away, Booth throws a big counter combo bu Velent just gets out of the way. Booth misses with the combination.
Velent closes the distance and clinches.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Booth's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Booth misses with an attempted mid kick.
No luck for Velent with that takedown attempt. Velent takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Booth tries to keep at a distance but Velent has taken the fight into the clinch. Velent escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Booth forces Velent back against the cage and clinches. Booth tries to stall but Velent uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Booth is pressed up against the cage. Velent has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Booth down to the mat. Booth avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Booth misses with a jab, cross combination.
Velent feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Booth keeping moving, preventing Velent from controlling successfully. Velent is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Booth looking to control.
Jose Booth has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Bentonic Velent is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Bentonic Velent. I've got Velent winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
