Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Balrog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chimo Kowalchuck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Balrog comes to the cage accompanied by DMX Intro. The key to victory for Mike Balrog has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Balrog! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chimo Kowalchuck! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Balrog, as that shot connected.
Kowalchuck takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Kowalchuck uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Balrog.
Kowalchuck feints the counter takedown. Kowalchuck closes the distance and clinches. Balrog doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Balrog has had enough of the clinch but Kowalchuck keeps him there for the moment. Balrog can't break the clinch.
Kowalchuck drops down looking for an ankle pick but Balrog pulls his leg out and moves away.
Kowalchuck throws a right hand that misses
and Balrog counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Kowalchuck fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Balrog throws a big counter combination but Kowalchuck scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kowalchuck throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Kowalchuck walks into a straight right hand from Balrog. Kowalchuck closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kowalchuck lands in his opponent's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kowalchuck prevents Balrog from getting back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kowalchuck trying to control but Balrog is working from the bottom. Kowalchuck cracks Balrog with a solid left hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kowalchuck pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Balrog is keeping the position for now. Balrog preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Balrog is trying to control the position but Kowalchuck postures up. Kowalchuck is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Kowalchuck throws a big right hand that misses. Balrog working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kowalchuck. Kowalchuck scoring with some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Balrog has control of Kowalchuck's left arm, preventing Kowalchuck from doing any damage. Kowalchuck is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Kowalchuck forces his way into half guard. Kowalchuck is looking for a kimura but Balrog is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kowalchuck to get the leverage. Balrog makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Balrog. Balrog keeping moving, preventing Kowalchuck from controlling successfully. Kowalchuck lands a couple of elbows. Kowalchuck avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kowalchuck cracks Balrog with a solid left hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kowalchuck with a flurry of punches that miss. Kowalchuck scoring with some ground and pound. Kowalchuck won't allow Balrog to get back to his feet. Kowalchuck has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Balrog trying to control the position.
Balrog knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kowalchuck on the ground. Kowalchuck lands a couple of digs. Kowalchuck makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Balrog wants to stand but Kowalchuck is controlling the position. Balrog controls Kowalchuck momentarily but Kowalchuck frees himself. Kowalchuck trying to control the position from guard on top but Balrog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balrog working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kowalchuck. Balrog not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Balrog lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Balrog looks to land a combination. Kowalchuck sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Balrog cracks Kowalchuck with a good jab. Kowalchuck thuds his shin into the meat of Balrog's side. Kowalchuck takes the fight into the clinch. Balrog has had enough of the clinch but Kowalchuck keeps him there for the moment. Kowalchuck goes for a takedown attempt but Balrog pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chimo Kowalchuck dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Balrog tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kowalchuck was well out of range. Poor timing from Balrog. Balrog keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Balrog's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Balrog duly obliges.
It looks like Chimo Kowalchuck has been cut. Jab, jab by Balrog - just one landing. Sloppy strikes from Kowalchuck. Those never looked like landing. Kowalchuck tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Balrog defends well and Kowalchuck ends up having to push Balrog into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Kowalchuck tries to clinch but Balrog moves away and Balrog counters with a lovely shot to the body. Kowalchuck blocks a jab. Kowalchuck doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kowalchuck takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Balrog lands a nice looking body shot.
A head kick misses from Kowalchuck. Chimo Kowalchuck is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kowalchuck shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Kowalchuck was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The strikes coming from Kowalchuck are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Balrog is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Kowalchuck is controlling him well. Kowalchuck postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Kowalchuck lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Balrog down.
Kowalchuck wants to control but Balrog is keeping him busy. You can see the frustration on Balrog's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kowalchuck working the body and head with strikes. Kowalchuck working the ground and pound. Kowalchuck in side control lands a decent elbow. Kowalchuck working the ground and pound. Chimo Kowalchuck has got the better of the ground game so far. Balrog takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kowalchuck in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Balrog looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Kowalchuck turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
