The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elwood lands a leg kick that knocks Barksdale off balance momentarily.
Barksdale has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Elwood.
Elwood looks to throw the jab but Barksdale is out of range.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Barksdale has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Barksdale throws a leg kick but Elwood sees it coming and moves out of range.

We've been told by Elwood's head coaches at Spetznaz Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Elwood throws a looping overhand right but Barksdale ducks down to avoid it.

No joy there for Elwood, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Barksdale is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

BAM! Barksdale delivers a spinning backfist that drops Elwood like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
