Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
39 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Boothe! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Doctor Doolittle! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Steven Brown.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Doolittle throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Oooooh!!! Boothe has knocked Doolittle down with a huge combo! Boothe steps away and waves a wobbly Doolittle back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
It looks like Doctor Doolittle has been cut. Doolittle blocks a low kick nicely. Doolittle throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Boothe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Doolittle avoids the body shot from Boothe.
Doolittle appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Doolittle lands with a kick to the temple. Boothe shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Boothe misses with an attempted mid kick.

Boothe has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Doolittle. We've been informed that Doolittle has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Boothe moves into range and connects with a jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boothe uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Boothe blocks a head kick by Doolittle.
Boothe appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. Boothe throws a right hand that misses
and Doolittle counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Thomas Boothe has been cut. Doolittle throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Boothe sees it coming and avoids it easily. Boothe looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Doolittle works Boothe's body with a nice hook. Doolittle moves out of range of the strikes. Boothe throws a hook but Doolittle blocks it. Doolittle thinks about the counter body kick. Boothe throws a lazy right hand but Doolittle sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Boothe throws a body kick that misses and Boothe takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Doolittle lands a brutal head kick. Boothe looks out on his feet and Doolittle throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Doctor Doolittle! Doctor Doolittle is the new light heavyweight champion!
