Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lyman Leach! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pablo Estevez! The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leach is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Estevez. Estevez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Leach is looking for a sweep. Estevez looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Leach wants to control but Estevez postures up. Estevez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Leach knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Leach is not content to let Estevez control the position. Leach manages to work his way to half guard, despite Estevez's best efforts.
That's one minute gone in the round. Estevez passes into side control, despite Leach's attempt to control the position.
Estevez stands up and beckons Leach to his feet. Estevez throws a hook but Leach avoids it easily. Leach swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Estevez gets a double leg takedown into Leach's guard. Estevez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Leach is looking for a sweep. Estevez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Estevez stands up and we're back to a striking position. Estevez scores with a nice head shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Estevez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Leach in his tracks. Estevez connects with a body shot. Estevez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Estevez is working for a kimura but Leach is defending it quite comfortably.

Estevez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Leach is just riding it out for now. Estevez eventually gives up the hold.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Estevez is looking for a kimura here.
Estevez is looking to take a break and control but Leach is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Leach keeps control of the position for the meantime. Leach is looking to control Estevez's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Leach avoid being mounted? Leach really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Leach is trying to get back to full guard. Estevez postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Leach to stand up. A telegraphed right hand from Estevez misses the target. Leach feinted with a counter takedown. Estevez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Estevez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Leach sprawls well initially but Estevez persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Leach trying to control from the bottom.
Leach moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Estevez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Estevez is pushing down on Leach's leg trying to pass to half guard. Leach is fighting to maintain full guard but Estevez has managed to sneak the leg through. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Estevez looking to score a takedown here. Leach is defending well but Estevez drives through and ends up in Leach's guard. Estevez trying to control but Leach is working from the bottom. Estevez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leach swivels though and keeps the full guard. Leach controlling the position. Estevez won't allow Leach to sweep him here. Estevez seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Estevez tries to free his leg and advance position but Leach is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leach trying to control the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Estevez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Lyman Leach is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Estevez gets a double leg takedown into Leach's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Estevez forces his way into half guard. Leach is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Estevez is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Leach defends it well. Leach is trying to get back to full guard. Estevez is looking for a kimura but Leach is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Estevez to get the leverage. Leach wants to improve his position but Estevez is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Estevez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Estevez passes into side control, despite Leach's attempt to control the position.
Estevez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Leach, who protects the arm well. Estevez has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Estevez stands up and we're back to a striking position. Estevez looking to score a takedown here. Leach is defending well but Estevez drives through and ends up in Leach's guard. Estevez drops back looking for a leg! Leach is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Leach manages to kick Estevez off! Estevez jumps back into Leach's guard. Estevez controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Let's hope that Estevez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Leach knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Estevez on the ground. Estevez tries to free his leg and advance position but Leach is retaining full guard. Estevez postures up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Estevez rushes Leach and presses him up against the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Leach. Estevez working hard to break the clinch. Leach just leaning against Estevez, taking a breather. A nice right hand lands inside from Estevez. Leach takes a shot to the head. Estevez wants to break the clinch but can't.
Estevez lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Estevez lands a body punch. Estevez lands with a short head shot on the inside. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Leach looking to throw knees to the head but Estevez is blocking nicely.
Estevez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Estevez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Estevez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Estevez thows a left - swing and a miss! It looked like Leach was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Estevez gets a clinch. Estevez drags the fight down to the ground.
Estevez looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Leach looking to sit in guard and control but Estevez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Estevez trying to control the position from guard on top but Leach is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Estevez controls from within his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leach keeping moving, preventing Estevez from controlling successfully. Estevez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Estevez won't allow Leach to sweep him here. Leach is pulling down on Estevez's head to control his posture. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Estevez wants to control from the top but Leach keeps moving. Estevez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Estevez wants to control but Leach is keeping him busy. Pablo Estevez has got the better of the ground game so far. Leach is looking to reverse the position. Leach struggling a bit here. Leach is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Estevez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Estevez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Leach keeps working. Leach tries to get back to half guard but can't. Estevez wants to control but Leach is keeping him busy. Leach manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Estevez is looking for a sweep. Leach is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leach prevents Estevez from standing back up.
Estevez is refusing to be controlled, as Leach sits in half guard. Estevez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Leach's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Leach's back! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Estevez has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Leach's body.
Estevez has his opponent's back and is working for the choke. Estevez working for the rear naked choke here. He's got one arm under but Leach is defending well. A couple of punches soften him up though and Estevez has tightened the hold! This one could be all over! It is! Leach taps out!
