And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, James Franks!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sturtsil misses with a takedown attempt
and Franks counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Sturtsil goes for a double leg but Franks avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Franks continues to drive forward.

Sturtsil bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Franks can't do much from the bottom here.
Franks avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Sturtsil.

Sturtsil is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Franks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Franks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sturtsil. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sturtsil swings around for an armbar but Franks sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sturtsil's guard.

Sturtsil escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Franks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Sturtsil is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Franks has his hands clasped together but Sturtsil extends and breaks Franks's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Sturtsil.
