The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hall misses with an uppercut. Firkragg saw that one coming. Firkragg shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hall defends it nicely. Hall motions for Firkragg to come forward. Hall throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Nice body punch from Firkragg. Firkragg shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hall but Hall pushes him off and we're back to square one. Firkragg fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hall avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jierdan Firkragg. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hall uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Firkragg has time to react.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Firkragg cracks Hall with a right hand to the side of the head. Hall on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Firkragg has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Hall. Hall walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Firkragg displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hall throws out the jab. Firkragg swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Firkragg has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Hall finds it's way round the side to connect with Firkragg's head. Hall displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Firkragg. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hall throws a body punch but Firkragg moves out of range. Firkragg moves out of range as Hall throws a body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Firkragg throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Hall on the side of the head. Firkragg lands a right hook to the body.
Hall slips a jab from Firkragg. Hall tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Firkragg displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hall. Firkragg stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Firkragg wants it to stay on the feet. Jierdan Firkragg has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kevin Hall. Firkragg uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Hall. Kevin Hall seems to be getting the better of the standup. Firkragg throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hall throws the kick towards the body but Firkragg avoids it. Hall misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A lazy body kick from Hall so Firkragg counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Firkragg looking to pass the guard. Firkragg is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Firkragg is pressing down on Hall's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hall is holding on for now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hall is looking to control Firkragg's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hall avoid being mounted?

Firkragg tries to clinch but Hall is having none of it. Firkragg looks to land a right hand but Hall moved out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jierdan Firkragg. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Firkragg, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
