PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bravo Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Button (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bravo Bravo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Charlie Button!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A decent looking body kick lands there for Bravo.
Button thuds a left hand into Bravo's body.
Bravo connects with an inside leg kick.

Button clinches with his opponent.

Bravo breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A shot to the liver by Button. Beautiful body shot.
Bravo tries to land a front kick but Button steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Bravo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Button. That did some damage!
Bravo tries to work over Button's front leg with a kick but Button checks it.
Charlie Button seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Button tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bravo was well out of range. Poor timing from Button.

Button closes the distance and clinches.
Bravo avoids a wild elbow strike from Button.
Button lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bravo pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Button crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bravo - the referee stops the clock and Button gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bravo. Button manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Button swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bravo counters with a body kick that stops Button in his tracks momentarily.
Button's coach down at Unicorn Powered Fighting was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Button's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Button moves out of range as Bravo throws a body kick.
Button looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Button misses with an uppercut.
Button misses with a body shot
and Bravo counters with a good low kick that Button was not able to check.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Button misses with a double jab.
Some bone on bone action there as Button checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
It seemed like Button was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
The fighters circling - Button throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Button closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Button checks the leg kick nicely there.
Button throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bravo throws a nice inside leg kick.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Button checks a leg kick.
Bravo moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Button is looking to clinch.
Button pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Bravo moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Button is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
It appears Bravo was looking to counter with a kick there.
Bravo moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bravo looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've been told by Bravo's head coaches at Reign in Blood that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Button throws a body shot but no joy.
Button has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Bravo.
Bravo lands a leg kick that knocks Button off balance momentarily.
Button lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bravo at a distance.
Bravo on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Button moves out of range of the body kick.
Bravo is looking to land body kicks.
Button throws a shot from downtown. Bravo moves away and avoids it.
Button takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Bravo cracks the inside of Button's front leg.
A looping hook to the body misses from Button. Bravo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Button waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Bravo.
Button connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Bravo momentarily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bravo.
Bravo slips a straight right by Button.
Bravo takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Bravo misses with a low kick.
Bravo doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bravo.
Button on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Bravo misses with a kick to the body.
Button let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Nice body kick there by Bravo.
Button steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Bravo. That one must have hurt.

Button lands a big right hand that sends Bravo crashing to the mat! Button stays standing though and waves Bravo back to his feet!


It looks like Bravo Bravo has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Donk. Button catches Bravo right on the button with a cross.


Bravo is rocked!
Bravo throws a body kick despite being completely out of range

and Button counters with a nice right hand that sends Bravo toppling to the canvas! Bravo scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Button finish him?!
Oh Bravo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
BAM! Button delivers a spinning backfist that drops Bravo like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Spinning Backfist). Charlie Button!
Charlie Button looked relieved post fight as he said the following; 'Nom nom I really ate you up boi'.
