PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ted Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hone Huia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Grant might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Set A Fire. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Huia dodges the punch combination from Grant.
A little jabbing left from Huia on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Huia throws a right hand that Grant ducks under and follows up with a left that Grant also avoids with ease.
Grant is looking to counter punch.
Huia throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Grant throws a right and a left that Huia avoids nicely.
Huia tries to bum rush Grant with a series of wild strikes but Grant uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Grant slips a jab from Huia.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Huia lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Huia looks to land a combination. Grant sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Grant lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Huia circles away quickly and effectively.

Huia shoots in looking for a takedown. Grant tries to sprawl out of it but Huia keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grant manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Huia tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
