Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ren Hitogoroshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hitogoroshi has chosen Crooked by Bassbin Twins as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexander Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ren Hitogoroshi! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hitogoroshi looks to score with a jab to the body but Emelianenko is just out of range. No luck for Emelianenko with that takedown attempt. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown but Hitogoroshi shows good takedown defense. Hitogoroshi lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Hitogoroshi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Emelianenko dodges the punch combination from Hitogoroshi.
Emelianenko half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Emelianenko jabs Hitogoroshi right on the nose. Hitogoroshi blinks but takes it well. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Emelianenko takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Emelianenko feints a jab promting Hitogoroshi to slip. Emelianenko then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hitogoroshi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Hitogoroshi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hitogoroshi wants it to stay on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Emelianenko. That's going to take a lot out of him. Emelianenko fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hitogoroshi connects with the punch. This has been an exciting period of action! Hitogoroshi fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Emelianenko on the side of the head. Hitogoroshi misses with a body shot.
Emelianenko shoots in looking for a takedown. Hitogoroshi tries to sprawl out of it but Emelianenko keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hitogoroshi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Emelianenko shoots in but Hitogoroshi avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hitogoroshi throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Hitogoroshi paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Hitogoroshi darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Hitogoroshi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A looping hook to the body misses from Emelianenko. Hitogoroshi does a little dance to reset his feet. Good standup being displayed there by Hitogoroshi as he connects with a hook. Hitogoroshi uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Hitogoroshi is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Emelianenko had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Emelianenko gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Emelianenko walks into a straight right hand from Hitogoroshi. Emelianenko is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hitogoroshi sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Hitogoroshi is staying active underneath Emelianenko, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Hitogoroshi is looking to escape. Hitogoroshi looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko is thwarting Hitogoroshi's attempts to control the position. Emelianenko throwing shots but Hitogoroshi is blocking nicely. Emelianenko is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hitogoroshi sees it coming and defends easily. Hitogoroshi regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Emelianenko.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hitogoroshi wants to sweep but no luck. Hitogoroshi trying to keep a closed guard but Emelianenko is proving a slippery customer.

Hitogoroshi could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Emelianenko has cracked it and Hitogoroshi is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Emelianenko!
