Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haji closes this distance looking for a takedown but Herodes circles away.
Haji moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Herodes throws a body punch but Haji moves out of range.
Haji tries to close the distance and clinch up but Herodes swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Haji keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A slapping body kick lands there for Haji.
Haji wants to clinch up but Herodes keeps it at a distance.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Haji fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Herodes avoids it really well and circles away.
A slow jab from Herodes misses its intended target.
Herodes misses with a hook. Haji ducked under it nicely.
Haji is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Herodes.
Haji fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Herodes.

and Herodes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Haji's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Herodes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Herodes stops Haji from standing up.
Herodes lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Haji controls Herodes momentarily but Herodes frees himself.
Herodes is stalling in the full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Haji throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Herodes's waist but Herodes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Haji off to one side.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Herodes shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Haji defends it nicely.

Haji closes the distance and clinches up with Herodes, looking for a takedown. Haji pushes Herodes against the cage but Herodes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Herodes throws a leg kick but Haji sees it coming and moves out of range.

Hafid Herodes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
