Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kurtis Boyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manki Keen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kurtis Boyer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Manki Keen! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Keen has closed the distance and engaged Boyer in a clinch.
Keen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Boyer avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Boyer stalling against the cage.
Keen wants the takedown. Boyer is fighting it off but Keen persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Boyer's guard against the cage. Boyer is trying to control the position but Keen postures up. Boyer wants to stand and escape but Keen is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boyer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boyer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boyer has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Keen is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Boyer. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Keen working away. Boyer is looking to reverse the position. Keen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Keen slows the pace down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boyer trying to control but Keen flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Boyer looking very determined here, making life difficult for Keen.
Boyer is trying to defend against the choke here but Keen has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Keen Tightens the hold and Boyer taps out furiously! Keen displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Manki Keen!
