Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jan Olav Thoresen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Badger! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Badger instigates a clinch. Thoresen prevents a takedown attempt there.
Badger can't get the takedown.
Badger controlling the action here for a moment.
Badger gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Thoresen.
Thoresen blocks an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Badger's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Badger darts in looking for a takedown but Thoresen gets double underhooks and turns Badger into the cage. Jan Olav Thoresen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jack Badger. Badger drives through and clinches with Thoresen against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Badger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Thoresen throws a head kick that misses and Badger counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Badger throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Thoresen is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thoresen wants to sweep but no luck. Badger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Thoresen has his feet on Badger's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Badger closes the distance and clinches. Thoresen can't break the clinch.

Thoresen is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Badger pulls him back up using the underhooks. Badger breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Badger shoots for a double leg takedown but Thoresen sprawls well. He's pushed Badger's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Badger shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Thoresen's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thoresen trying to keep a closed guard but Badger is proving a slippery customer.

Thoresen trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Thoresen seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Thoresen is trying to control the position but Badger postures up. Thoresen has control of Badger's left arm, preventing Badger from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thoresen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Badger works over Thoresen with some ground and pound from guard. Badger stopping the sweep attempt from Thoresen.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Thoresen dodges the punch combination from Badger.
Badger drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thoresen takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Thoresen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Badger off and has taken his back! Thoresen is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Thoresen is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Badger defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Badger is trying to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Badger dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Badger closes the distance and clinches. A short body shot lands from Thoresen as the two fighters clinch.
Thoresen goes for a takedown attempt but Badger pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Badger misses with a few strikes there.
Badger tries to close the distance and clinch but Thoresen swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Left hook, right uppercut from Badger. Badger throws a head kick but Thoresen moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Thoresen. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thoresen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Some wild striking there from Badger.

That's one minute gone in the round. Thoresen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Badger throws out the jab. Badger moves into the clinch. Thoresen tries to break free but Badger pushes him back against the cage. Thoresen is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Badger to keep the fight standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Olav Thoresen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Badger jumps guard but Thoresen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Badger breaks the clinch.
Badger misses with an uppercut. Badger has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Thoresen is landing a low percentage of strikes. Badger swats away the attempt to clinch by Thoresen. Badger shoots in and bounces Thoresen off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Badger is breathing heavily. Badger trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thoresen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Badger working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Thoresen trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Badger looking to sit in guard and control but Thoresen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Badger looking to hit a scissor sweep but Thoresen is one step ahead there. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thoresen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thoresen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Thoresen stands up from Badger's guard - Thoresen perhaps looking for a knockout. Badger tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Badger fails in his attempt to clinch. Badger is looking to land body kicks. Thoresen tries to clinch there but Badger circles away.
Thoresen takes a swing at Badger's ribcage but misses. Badger drives through and clinches with Thoresen against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Badger shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Thoresen sprawls well. Thoresen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Badger gets slowly back to his feet. The fight moves into the clinch position. Badger tries to land knees in the clinch but Thoresen avoids the damage to the body. Thoresen is looking to break free of the clinch but Badger has double underhooks. Badger has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Thoresen after a bit of a struggle. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Thoresen is trying to push Badger away but Badger has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Badger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jack Badger showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Badger gets the takedown into side control. Badger has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Thoresen managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Badger.
Thoresen is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Badger throwing shots but Thoresen is blocking nicely. Thoresen flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Thoresen controlling the position for now. Badger not landing any meaningful shots this time. Thoresen wants to control but Badger is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thoresen is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
That's one minute gone in the round. Badger throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Thoresen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Thoresen misses with the combination.
Despite the aggression on Badger's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Badger doesn't manage to clinch there - Thoresen circles away.
Badger closes the distance and pushes Thoresen back into the cage. Thoresen tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Badger tries to pull guard but Thoresen holds him up against the cage and eventually Badger drops back down to his feet.
Thoresen tries to circle away but Badger has him pinned against the cage. Badger escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Thoresen will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Badger misses with a wild combination.
Badger takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Badger is looking to take this fight into the clinch. As Badger tries to get set, Thoresen tries to push him back and clinch up but Badger manages to avoid the attempt. Jan Olav Thoresen is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Thoresen is trying hard to land a takedown here. Badger sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Badger unleashes a big counter combination but Thoresen bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Olav Thoresen. That's going to take a lot out of him. Thoresen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Badger shoots in for a takedown but Thoresen shows good takedown defense. Thoresen lands a body shot.

Thoresen's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Badger connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Thoresen scrambles back to his feet. Thoresen goes for a double leg but Badger avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Badger continues to drive forward. Thoresen ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Badger stuffs the takedown attempt from Thoresen. Thoresen gets slowly back to his feet. Badger takes the fight into the clinch. Badger lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Thoresen is trying is best to control the position here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Badger there. Thoresen tries to roll over but Badger keeps him under control. Badger is working for a submission of some sort.
Badger is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Thoresen has managed to free his arm - good work. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Badger throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Jack Badger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Badger has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
