Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas comes to the cage accompanied by Rock You by Helix. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dave Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Douglas closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Douglas creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Johnson sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Dave Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Douglas throws the left hand but Johnson avoids the punch easily.
Douglas goes for a double leg but Johnson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Johnson continues to drive forward.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Jack Douglas has been cut.
Douglas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Douglas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Douglas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Johnson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Johnson connects with a good right hand that stumbles Douglas. Douglas circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Johnson throws out a loose jab but Douglas uses good head movement to avoid it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Douglas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Johnson as he jumps to the side.
Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Douglas moves away.
Douglas scores with a kick to the midsection.
Johnson fakes the leg kick and cracks Douglas in the body.
Douglas sizes up Johnson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Douglas tests Johnson's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Johnson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Douglas throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Johnson counters with a series of strikes. Douglas will be more careful next time no doubt.

Johnson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Douglas sprawls well initially but Johnson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Johnson looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Douglas with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Johnson looks to land a strike but Douglas avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Dave Johnson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Johnson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
