PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marvin Hearns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Steve Hoar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hoar decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Hearns is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Hoar pulls his head out easily.
Hearns wants to control but Hoar is keeping busy.
Hoar moves into full mount! Hearns won't be happy about that!
Hearns sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Hoar seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Hoar frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Hearns tries to lock up and control but Hoar gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Hoar is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Hearns has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Hearns is controlling an arm, preventing Hoar from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Marvin Hearns just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Hoar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Hoar shoots in looking for a takedown. Hearns tries to sprawl out of it but Hoar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hearns manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Steve Hoar comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Hoar has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
