Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Buzz Lightbeer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barao DeSilva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Buzz Lightbeer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Barao DeSilva! The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lightbeer throws a head kick but DeSilva moves out of range.
DeSilva misses with a series of wild punches.
A counter left hand to the body from Lightbeer misses its target. DeSilva scores with a slapping inside leg kick. DeSilva scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. DeSilva trying to control the action but Lightbeer is working from the bottom. DeSilva taking a breather here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. DeSilva working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lightbeer tries to improve position but can't. Lightbeer wants to control but DeSilva postures up. DeSilva fails to land a wild elbow strike.
DeSilva tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. DeSilva trying to control the action but Lightbeer is working from the bottom. DeSilva tries to score with some ground and pound. Lightbeer controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. DeSilva tries for a kimura but Lightbeer is defending well. DeSilva throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Lightbeer is trying to control DeSilva's posture but DeSilva avoids it. DeSilva working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Lightbeer is looking for a sweep. DeSilva is chipping away with strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lightbeer avoids any damage from the ground and pound of DeSilva. DeSilva looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. DeSilva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lightbeer keeps working. DeSilva misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Lightbeer regains half guard. Lightbeer wants to control but DeSilva is keeping busy and won't allow it. Lightbeer wants to improve his position but DeSilva is controlling well.
Lightbeer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from DeSilva. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! DeSilva is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. DeSilva working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DeSilva throws a low kick but Lightbeer moves out of range easily. Lightbeer checks a low kick from DeSilva. Barao DeSilva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Lightbeer cracks DeSilva with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. DeSilva fails with the takedown and Lightbeer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. DeSilva misses with a wild body shot. Lightbeer swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lightbeer scores with a spinning back kick! DeSilva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. DeSilva wants to control from the top but Lightbeer keeps moving. Lightbeer working a defensive guard here.
That's one minute gone in the round. DeSilva trying to control but Lightbeer is working from the bottom. DeSilva postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lightbeer is on top in guard.
Lightbeer engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Lightbeer trying to control but DeSilva is working from the bottom. Our spies down at at Disciples Top Team inform us that DeSilva has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Lightbeer sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lightbeer wants to stand and escape but instead DeSilva has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. DeSilva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Lightbeer manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. DeSilva manages to get himself to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lightbeer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Lightbeer postures up.
DeSilva is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lightbeer defends well. DeSilva has a closed guard, preventing Lightbeer from standing up. DeSilva has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. DeSilva looking for a sweep. Not yet DeSilva, not yet. Lightbeer wants to stand and escape but instead DeSilva has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. DeSilva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. DeSilva stopping the sweep attempt from Lightbeer. Lightbeer wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Lightbeer bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in DeSilva's guard.
Lightbeer has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Lightbeer wants to control from the top but DeSilva keeps moving. Lightbeer stopping the sweep attempt from DeSilva. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! DeSilva is looking for a triangle but Lightbeer pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lightbeer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
DeSilva being controlled here, momentarily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Buzz Lightbeer will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Lightbeer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. DeSilva fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lightbeer on the side of the head. Barao DeSilva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lightbeer checks the leg kick nicely there.
Lightbeer is looking to counter the offense by DeSilva and move into the clinch. DeSilva takes a shot to the body in his stride.

DeSilva shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lightbeer pinned against the cage. Lightbeer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Lightbeer tried to counter with a leg kick but DeSilva avoided it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lightbeer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
DeSilva swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lightbeer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but DeSilva moves away. Lightbeer falls off balance throwing a combination
and DeSilva counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Lightbeer! Barao DeSilva has got the better of the ground game so far. DeSilva trying to control the action but Lightbeer is working from the bottom. DeSilva is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. DeSilva tries for a kimura but Lightbeer is defending well. Lightbeer manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lightbeer is trying to get back to full guard. DeSilva working the head and body with strikes. DeSilva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lightbeer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Lightbeer trying to control here.
DeSilva is nestled in close to Lightbeer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. DeSilva performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Lightbeer trying to control here.

DeSilva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lightbeer is just riding it out for now. DeSilva eventually gives up the hold. Lightbeer tries to roll over but DeSilva keeps him under control. DeSilva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lightbeer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Lightbeer wants to get back to full guard but DeSilva has passed into side control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. DeSilva has been the more effective fighter overall so far. DeSilva swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lightbeer was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. DeSilva tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lightbeer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten DeSilva somewhat.
And that's the end of the fight! Barao DeSilva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think DeSilva has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
