The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martins digs a good hook to Sussman's body.
Sloppy strikes from Martins. Those never looked like landing.
Sussman was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Sussman has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Montreal Fighter's Gym (4.5* Sparring) in the buildup to the fight.
Sussman throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sussman scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sussman looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sussman slips a jab and a cross from Martins.
Sussman scores with a nice right hand.
Martins throws a series of punches but Sussman moves out of range.
Martins stuns Sussman with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Sussman jabs at Martins's body.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Martins works over Sussman's head and body with a nice combination.
It looks like Simon Sussman has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Martins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sussman is looking to counter punch.
Martins tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sussman was well out of range. Poor timing from Martins.
Sussman needs to keep his hands up - Martins had a free shot at his head there.
Martins lands a jab-cross combination.
Sussman lands a right hook to the body.
Martins looks winded!
Sussman cracks Martins with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Martins looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Sussman finish him?
Martins is rocked!
Martins glances at the clock... BAM! Sussman nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Martins crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Martins is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Simon Sussman!
Simon Sussman tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
