The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Carlson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gracie's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt - Carlson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Carlson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Gracie had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Carlson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Gracie Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Carlson's back instead.
Carlson just trying to survive but Gracie is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Gracie seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Carlson's chin but Carlson turns very nicely into Gracie's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Carlson.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carlson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
