Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Durrine gets caught flat footed, as Penn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Penn decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Durrine, up you get!
Penn scores with a nice right hand.

Durrine looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Penn!
Penn working to try and regain half guard.

Durrine looking to secure an arm triangle but Penn defends it well.
Durrine scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Penn?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Durrine goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Penn turns into him and now he's in Durrine's guard.
Durrine throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

Penn wants to control from the top but Durrine keeps moving.
Durrine bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Penn's guard.

Durrine is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Penn is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Penn has escaped and now he's on top!

Durrine has a closed guard, preventing Penn from standing up.
Penn forces his way into half guard.

Durrine might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Penn throws a good cross that connects.
Penn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Penn shoots and misses

and Durrine counters with a single leg into guard. Penn didn't expect that.
Penn wants to sweep but no luck.

Penn has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Durrine can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Durrine wants to control from the top but Penn keeps moving.
Durrine in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Penn has momentary wrist control but Durrine slips an elbow through the middle.

Penn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Durrine doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Durrine manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Durrine landing with the ground and pound.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Penn scores with a three punch combo!
Penn is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Durrine moves into range and clinches up with Penn.

Durrine manages to pull guard.

Durrine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Penn can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Penn avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Penn trying to control the position from guard on top but Durrine is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chuck Durrine dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Durrine blocks the body kick.
Penn throws a sloppy head kick and Durrine moves out of range easily.
Penn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Durrine decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Penn's guard.
Durrine stands and throws Penn's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Penn is trying to control Durrine's posture but Durrine avoids it.

Durrine is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Penn knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Durrine has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Durrine lands a big shot there that rocks Penn but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Penn is trying desperately to improve position.
Durrine avoids the attempt from Penn to control.
Penn is in a horrible position here. Durrine smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Penn is desperately trying to improve his position but Durrine has a good base and remains in mount.

Durrine is working for a guillotine from mount but Penn frees his head quite easily.
Chuck Durrine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Durrine jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Penn manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Penn can't do much from the bottom here.
Penn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Durrine wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Penn's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Durrine stands up and beckons Penn to his feet.
Penn looks for the body kick but Durrine saw that one coming.
Penn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Penn slips a straight right by Durrine.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Durrine looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Penn!
Penn is looking to get to half guard.
Penn is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Durrine has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Penn is forced to tap!
