Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seth Rolt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Tran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tran has chosen Blockbuster Night Part 1 as his entrance music. Andrew Tran has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Seth Rolt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Andrew Tran!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rolt stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rolt wants it to stay on the feet.
Rolt changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Rolt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tran wants to clinch.
Rolt is looking to counter the offense by Tran and move into the clinch.

Rolt instigates a clinch.

Rolt has clasped his hands together around Tran's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Rolt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rolt wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tran keeps working.
Tran tries to buck Rolt off but Rolt is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tran wants to control but Rolt postures up.
Tran manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rolt's best efforts.

Tran is trying to get back to full guard.
Tran is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rolt's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rolt's back!
Tran tries to keep control of the position but Rolt is staying busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tran looking for the choke but no joy.
Rolt is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Beast Bar that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Tran is looking for the choke from the back position but Rolt is controlling his hands well.
Tran struggling to keep hold of the position.

Tran has the hooks in. Rolt is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Tran looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Rolt is controlling Tran 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tran has his foot on Rolt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rolt works his way back into a safe position though.
Rolt has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Tran is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Tran can't keep his opponent in guard - Rolt advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Rolt thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Rolt decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Rolt throws a head kick that misses.

Tran darts in and clinches Rolt up against the cage.
Tran tries to pull guard but Rolt won't allow it.

Rolt manages to break the clinch.
Tran gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Rolt counters with a one-two to the body.
Seth Rolt has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Tran.

Rolt looking to score a takedown here. Tran is defending well but Rolt drives through and ends up in Tran's guard.

Tran working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rolt doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rolt manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Tran looks winded!
Tran wants to sweep here but Rolt controlling him for the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tran wants to stand and escape but Rolt is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Rolt bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rolt taking a breather here.
Tran regains half guard.
Tran is trying to get back to full guard.
Rolt controlling the action here.
Rolt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Rolt decides to return to a standing position.

Rolt manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Tran on his heels. He'll look to pass Tran's guard now, I'm sure.

Tran is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rolt is aware though and is defending well.
Tran is trying to control the position but Rolt postures up.
Tran is adopting a defensive guard.

Tran trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Rolt slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Rolt fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tran manages to avoid it.

Tran moves into the clinch.

Rolt turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rolt manages to end up in side control.
Rolt trying to control the position but Tran is working away.

Rolt wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tran, who protects the arm well.
Rolt is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tran can do to turn this around?
Tran is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Tran is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rolt's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Rolt trying to control from half guard but Tran is working away.

Rolt is trying to work for a kimura but Tran is defending well.
Tran wants to control but Rolt is keeping busy and won't allow it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Rolt wants to free his trapped foot but Tran is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rolt is keen to just control but Tran is a slippery customer.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rolt defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Tran.

Rolt stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tran swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Tran is trying to control but can't.
Tran wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Rolt scores with a nice right hand.

Rolt dives in and scores a takedown into Tran's guard.
Tran looking for a sweep. Not yet Tran, not yet.

Tran has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rolt can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Tran takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rolt trying to control but Tran is working from the bottom.

Tran escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rolt gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rolt loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Rolt preventing the sweep.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rolt engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Tran looks to clinch
and Rolt cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Rolt shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Tran wants to stand back up but Rolt manages to pass into side control.
Rolt laying and praying for a moment but Tran takes advantage and regains half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tran wants to get back to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Seth Rolt showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rolt, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Seth Rolt decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
Andrew Tran was interviewed post fight and said 'Well It Wasn't My Best Fight, But I Will Train Hard To Get Back In The Game And Win My Next Fight.'.
