The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washington doesn't manage to clinch there - Nicholson circles away.
Washington throws a sloppy head kick and Nicholson moves out of range easily.
Washington feints a jab promting Nicholson to slip. Washington then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nicholson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like Dylan Nicholson has been cut.
Nicholson slips a jab and a cross from Washington.
Washington shoots in for a double leg but Nicholson sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Washington connects with an inside leg kick.
Nicholson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Washington defends well and Nicholson ends up having to push Washington into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
