PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lycan Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones misses with an uppercut
and Balboa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jones sizes up Balboa with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Balboa dips to his left and cracks Jones with an uppercut!
Jones throws a lazy uppercut

and Balboa counters by moving into the clinch.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Balboa counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Balboa drops his hands momentarily and Jones takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looked like Balboa was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jones.

Jones throws a hook but Balboa avoids it easily.
Jones throws out a loose jab but Balboa uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jones swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Balboa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones.

Jones might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Jones loads up on a big right hand but Balboa slips the punch.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Lycan Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

It looks like Lycan Jones has been cut.
Balboa scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Balboa cracks Jones with a right hand to the side of the head.

Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Balboa.

Jones throws a hook to the side of Balboa's head but Balboa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

A little feinted left hand from Balboa on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
