Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Akira Ishikawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chauncey Silvestre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ishikawa comes to the cage accompanied by mindshift genki sudo. Chauncey Silvestre will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
36 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akira Ishikawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
33 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Chauncey Silvestre! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silvestre looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Silvestre wants to stand up but Ishikawa has a hold of him and won't allow it. Ishikawa is looking to escape. Ishikawa is looking for a sweep. Silvestre is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ishikawa wants to get back to his feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ishikawa has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Silvestre escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Silvestre! Ishikawa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ishikawa pushes Silvestre away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Silvestre gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ishikawa tries to get back to half guard but can't. Ishikawa is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Silvestre wants to stand but Ishikawa has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Excellent takedown into side control there by Silvestre. Ishikawa is trying to improve his position. Ishikawa is working hard here to advance position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silvestre working away. Ishikawa is trying to escape and get back to his feet. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Silvestre tries to stand but Ishikawa is controlling his head.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Ishikawa tries to clinch up. Ishikawa wants to clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ishikawa is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ishikawa tries to clinch up but Silvestre circles away and keeps his distance. Ishikawa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Silvestre. Silvestre gets tackled into the cage by Ishikawa. Ishikawa maintains the clinch. Silvestre gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Ishikawa has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silvestre can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ishikawa looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Silvestre puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ishikawa gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Ishikawa pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Silvestre avoids a wild elbow strike from Ishikawa. The referee is keeping an eye on Silvestre - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Ishikawa drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Silvestre dives on top into guard. Ishikawa is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Ishikawa looking for a sweep. Not yet Ishikawa, not yet. Ishikawa looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Silvestre passes into half guard.
Ishikawa is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silvestre stops Ishikawa from getting back to his feet.
Silvestre wants to stand up but Ishikawa has a hold of him and won't allow it. Ishikawa regains full guard. Nicely done. Ishikawa has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Silvestre has passed into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ishikawa manages to get back to half guard. Silvestre prevents Ishikawa from standing back up.
Silvestre wants to stand but Ishikawa has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Silvestre shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Ishikawa wants to improve his position but Silvestre is controlling well.
Silvestre has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ishikawa tries to kick Silvestre off in order to stand up. Silvestre Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Ishikawa is trying to escape and get back to his feet. Ishikawa is trying to improve his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chauncey Silvestre showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Silvestre keeps the fight on the outside. Ishikawa moves in looking to clinch but Silvestre pushes him off. Ishikawa fails in his attempt to clinch. Ishikawa clinches up against the cage. Silvestre drops down looking for an ankle pick but Ishikawa pulls his leg out and moves away.

Silvestre wants to stand but Ishikawa has his arm trapped. Ishikawa tries to bench press Silvestre off him but Silvestre keeps the position.

Ishikawa trying to control the position from guard on top but Silvestre is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ishikawa passes Silvestre's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Ishikawa is stalling here. Silvestre is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ishikawa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Silvestre has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Silvestre decides to take the fight back to the feet. Ishikawa tries to clinch up. Silvestre is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ishikawa is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Ishikawa keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Horrible takedown attempt by Silvestre or perhaps it was just good defense by Ishikawa, which made it look bad. Akira Ishikawa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chauncey Silvestre. Silvestre shoots in and drives through. Ishikawa sprawls well. Silvestre tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ishikawa defends well and Silvestre ends up having to push Ishikawa into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Ishikawa feinted with a counter takedown. Ishikawa tries to clinch there but Silvestre circles away.
Silvestre doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Silvestre swats away the attempt to clinch by Ishikawa. Silvestre tries to counter with a clinch but Ishikawa shakes him off and moves away. Silvestre keeps the fight on the outside. Silvestre fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ishikawa closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Silvestre quickly recovers to half guard. Akira Ishikawa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Silvestre is looking for a sweep. Ishikawa is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Ishikawa is working for a kimura but Silvestre is defending it quite comfortably.
Silvestre tries to roll over but Ishikawa keeps him under control.
And that's the end of the fight! Akira Ishikawa showed his dominance in that final round. I think Silvestre has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
