Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Akira Konda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickson Dredd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Akira Konda has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rickson Dredd!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Konda gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dredd is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dredd trying to control the position from guard on top but Konda is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dredd wants to work for an arm triangle but Konda is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
My spies in Hells Balls Grappling Academy inform me that Dredd has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dredd looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Dredd postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Konda is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dredd, into his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Dredd drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Konda dives on top into guard.

Konda sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dredd's guard.
Dredd is trying to control but Konda passes into side control!
Dredd looks to move to half guard but instead Konda has passed into mount! Damn!

Konda is trying to stick to Dredd's back but Dredd is turning into Konda. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Konda's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Dredd.
