Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mario Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Pop Rock!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rock wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Silva misses with a double jab.
Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rock counters with a straight right hand.
Rock throws a hook to the side of Silva's head but Silva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Silva takes one on the button.
It looks like Mario Silva has been cut.
Silva is breathing heavily.
Silva throws a head kick that misses
and Rock counters with a crisp right hand that drops Silva! Rock lets Silva back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nice body punch from Rock.
Silva takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Rock throws a hook but Silva avoids it easily.
Silva on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
A jab from Rock misses.
Rock drops Silva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Silva looks back up at him and smiles so Rock waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Silva is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Rock engages and cracks Silva with a massive lead left hook - Silva tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Rock is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pop Rock!
After winning the bout, Pop Rock thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
